Precious metal casting is a manufacturing process that shapes metal into detailed and intricate designs difficult to achieve by hand. The design file is 3D printed in wax, then we use the ‘tree’ casting method where multiple wax models attach to a central stem that is encased in a mould. After melting the wax, molten metal fills all cavities, creating several casts at once. Once cooled, each cast is separated and finished.
We offer casting in different precious metals, including 100% recycled 9ct and 18ct yellow, white and red, sterling silver and platinum.

We also offer 3D scanning, polishing and hallmarking options to support all your needs.
Precious metal casting enables jewellery makers to produce intricate, high-quality designs efficiently and at scale. The process offers detailed customisation, durability and flexibility, making it ideal for creating unique designs. With streamlined steps from digital design to finishing options, precious metal casting provides both precision and control, ensuring each cast meets the highest standards.
Two different types of hallmarks can be applied:
Struck mark - Made with a punch and creates an impression in the item
Laser mark - Applied with a laser which will burn off the surface to create the relief
We aim to carry out struck hallmarks on items but this is subjective to the design.
It costs just £6 inc VAT (£5 exc VAT) per item to hallmark, with no minimum parcel charges and no need to post to the assay office.
Unfortunately we do not precious metal cast earring posts.
Please do not include posts when designing earrings as these cannot be printed. The length and diameter can create issues.
Instead, we suggest you attach your earring posts after you receive to your designs, we offer a range of ear pins, posts and scrolls to help you achieve this.
Here are some of our top tips for designs to ensure a smooth precious metal casting experience.
The wall thickness - Your designs need to have a minimum of 0.8mm thickness.
Ensure edges aren't too sharp- If two edges meet into a sharp point or edge they will not print very well.
Avoid small holes- Holes should be no smaller than 0.5mm.
Hollows/Multiple Pieces- Hollow pieces or interlocking pieces cannot be processed.
Watertight Models- A design must be watertight.
