All our items are despatched by a network of carriers including amongst others, Royal Mail and DHL.
We will do our best to despatch your order the same day, we are currently despatching 97% of all orders same day.
If you want to track your parcel, please use the tracking reference from your E-despatch notification that has been emailed to you. Please note that our trackable services are Royal Mail Special Delivery, TNT, FedEx and DHL. Parcels that are sent First Class Post and Recorded Delivery cannot be tracked. How do I return items? Please complete the returns form here following the simple procedure.
If you are returning an item and you request for another product, then please be aware that a credit will be raised on the returned product. A new order will then be raised for the new product. If you pay for your orders using a credit or debit card, then we will contact you for payment.

Cooksongold Returns Policy At Cookson Gold, we are committed to selling high-quality products that we hope you enjoy using and working with, but we also know that for one reason or another there may be a time where you will need to return or exchange something that you have bought from us. What we recommend you to do initially when receiving your goods is to check them carefully before using them.

Returned goods will be credited if returned in their original condition, and with a completed Returns Form. For special order items, such as bespoke cut bullion, please see below.
Goods accepted for return will be credited at the price on the date of invoice.
We will only refund return postage for goods not required if returned in less than 30 days. If the prepaid postage option is used and the return is over 30 days, we will deduct the cost from your refund. If you are returning an item due to a fault of ours, we will always refund postage charges but would ask that we choose the postage method.
If you request a refund, this will be normally processed within one working week.
Exchanging an item If you are returning an item within 30 days and would like an exchange, then please be aware that a credit will be raised on the returned item. A new order will then be raised for the new product. If you pay for your orders using a credit or debit card, then we will contact you for payment. If you request an exchange, as the item was received faulty, then this is normally processed within one working week.

Cancelling an order within 30 days
You may cancel stocked orders by giving us notice of cancellation within 30 days of the date of ordering, for manufactured orders please contact us. Such notice may be given by mail, fax or email (all contact details can be found at the bottom of this page). If you are cancelling because of a problem with the goods, please notify us of the problem at the time of cancellation by calling us on 0345 100 1122.
Special order items
We regret to advise that some special order items including some cut bullion will not be accepted for return. Please call us on 0345 100 1122 to discuss this further.
Item sent incorrectly
If items have been sent incorrectly, please can you contact our customer service team on either
0345 100 1122 or email at email@example.com. We will then advise on the next step to take and endeavour for the correct item to be dispatched the same day you notify us.
Item is faulty or has developed a fault For items that have been received faulty/ developed a fault, in the first instance, please can you contact our customer service team on either 0345 100 1122 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We will then advise the next steps you need to take. This will depend on the item and when this was purchased as it may have to go back to our supplier for testing.
Return of items more than 30 days old If you want to return items that were bought more than 30 days ago, we may still accept the item but there may be an administrative charge and exclusions do apply, e.g. if the bullion has been cut to some requirements. Due to popular demand, we have put together this starter kit with our best selling Barelling Machine (999 6005).This offers everything you require to start polishing! The Kit comes with starter pack of 250gm barrelling compound, and a pack of 500gm mixed steel shot (998 003 for 1kg bag). Machine measures total of 21cm x 13cm x 13cm. When using the steel shot, cleanliness is very important for consistent quality of results. As well as the inside of the barrel, shot must be kept clean and never allowed to oxidise or rust. Always keep shot under a solution of water and Barrelbrite powder. For prolonged period of non-use, add 25cc of ammonia or one tablespoon of Barrelbrite to this solution. Rusted shot is useless and should be replaced. Max of 1kg shot is required per barrel. Do not overload the barrel with shot as damage to work may occur. Using separate barrels and shot for Gold, Silver and base metal is also advised, to avoid one type of metal being burnished into a different metal. Please note this metal barrelling machine is 15 watts. Please ensure all pieces are thoroughly cleaned using an Ultrasonic Cleaner before Barrelling. Any traces of dirt will contaminate the Shot and Barrelling Compound. Please note, this product has a British 3-pin plug. The outside of the barrel is 14.9cm in length and 11.5cm in diameter, the inside diameter is 10.4cm.

Have had a problem with barrel not cleaning jewellery properly and shot going rusty! Some of it was rusty on arrival. Have spoken to CK and they are sending me replacement shot.

Hello, I bought from here many and many precious tools, precious stones, findings and so on. I am a goldsmith and in purchase I did they didn't shipped all that I payed. I'm contacting them by many weeks and the only thing they can write me is: "Just to let you know, we've got your message - thanks for getting in touch. One of our team will respond to you as soon as possible. Our normal support opening hours are 8AM to 8PM Monday to Friday, 10AM to 4PM Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays UK time. We will reply within a maximum of one hour during UK office hours." How can I do for having their attention???

I put off getting one of these for ages, but I’m so glad I took the plunge and got one! As my workshop is tiny, I have been looking for a cleaner alternative to my polishing wheel. As many have said the lid is a bit tricky. If you let the air out I find that it works fine and does not leak. Only criticism is is that it’s very loud! Apart from that absolutely love it!

I spent a lot of time deciding what to buy as my first foray into barrel polishing. My company is very small, so every purchase is worth agonising over, and I wasn't even sure if this type of polishing would work for me. I eventually plumped for this machine, despite the mixed reviews, and I'm glad I did. I will admit, getting the lids on and off the barrel without trapping air inside takes some practice the machine is quite loud when operating and I have had to experiment a lot with the correct balance of 'stuff' inside. However, I am now barrel polishing all of my work, which emerges after a two hour cycle absolutely gleaming! I have found it better to reduce the amount of water the manufacturer suggests half-filling the barrel and I only use enough to cover my work and the shot I add half a teaspoon of Barrel-Brite, and THEN LEAVE THE LID OFF FOR AN HOUR. This is because Barrel-Brite expands in water and I found the pressure loosens the lids. Once this pressure is relieved, however, the lids stay on fine and you can leave the machine to its work. I won't pretend that I don't intend to replace this machine with an easier to handle, more professional and much more expensive version in years to come but as a first-time user, this machine does the trick. The starter kit is also great value for money... the small bag of Barrel-Brite included is enough to last for months and I think the carbon steel shot will be fine, as long as I dry it after use I dry mine with an old tea-towel and then leave it over night in a bowl on the radiator. Overall, very happy with my new toy!

Regretfully, I have had to return this item for a refund. After carefully reading all the instructions & the review advice, I managed to remove and replace the lid on the empty barrel - but only by wedging it against something as my hands are not large enough to grip the lid or the barrel securely. With shot and liquid, it would be impossible for me to remove the lid safely if at all and without spillage.Someone with larger hands might find this easier, but I need a different lid locking mechanism.

I nearly didn't buy one of these as I saw a few reviews that weren't so good, like the barrel rolls of and it leaks.I have been so happy with the results of this little barrel, the best thing I have bought for a long time. Results are fantastic. If you read the instructions properly, you will not get any problems with leaking, barrel rolling off or shot going rusty. IT IS FANTASTIC...

I've had no problems with this barrel. No leaking, no barrel rolling off etc. It's worked really well for me. The only thing I would say is that the shot provided with this barrel is NOT stainless steel and has rusted therefore is now useless. I would recommend purchasing your shot separately.

You must always keep your shot under a solution of water and Barrelbrite powder to prevent rusting. If you decide to empty your shot instead, then it must be completely dried before storing.
