Do you know how to cut copper sheet metal? If you’re new to the jewellery making world, it does take time to get to grips with cutting sheet metal accurately. To cut any metal sheet, make sure you’re wearing safety glasses before you start to protect yourself from any small metal fragments as you work.
The best way to roughly cut copper sheet is using metal cutting shears. Depending on the piece you’re working on, you may then want to follow up with a jeweller’s saw for a more accurate cut. Use a smooth, fluid motion with the saw – this will help you avoid snapping the blade. When you’ve finished, you can neaten the edges of the metal sheet by filing to give a smooth finish.
