What is Jewellery Casting?
Jewellery casting, otherwise referred to as lost wax casting is a detailed process that allows jewellers to create intricate jewellery pieces. Your jewellery piece is first created with wax which is then placed on a specific system or wax tree. The trunk of the wax tree is fitted to the base and your wax parts act as the branches. A secure vessel is then placed over this tree so that a plaster mould can be created. This is then burned in a kiln during which the wax is melted away leaving behind an intricate mould. Within this mould your molten gold or silver is poured to create your piece.
