We stock high quality base metal loose curb chain, ranging in size from 2.8mm to 6.0mm, and 1 meter in length which is supplied in either silver or gold plated. Gold or Silver can be used to plate base metals such as copper, palladium and brass. T
he electroplating process is done through the application of a thin layer of pure gold or silver, by depositing it electrolytic ally directly onto the surface of a base metal. Gold can be extremely soft especially in its purest form and so does not stand up to war and tear very well. Electroplating produces a much more resilient and hard wearing metal to work with one that can hold up to everyday wear and tear.
All our base metal loose chains have a high quality finish which allow for beautiful jewellery making.
Our range of base metal chains is a perfect substitute to precious metal gold and silver chain. Base metal is much less expensive than precious metals and more hard wearing. It allows the jeweller designer to take a creative licence in creating new and innovative styles of both traditional and contemporary jewellery.
