Labradorite Gemstones

Labradorite is a popular stone and is a member of the feldspar family of minerals. Labradorite was discovered in 1770 in Labrador, Canada and is therefore named after this region. A member of the feldspar family, labradorite is composed of aggregate layers that refract light in the most captivating way know as “labradorescence”, exhibiting beautiful iridescent flashes of peacock blue, gold, pale green and coppery red. The colours instantly captivate the beholder, making labradorite jewellery seem magical in appearance.

Labradorite Gemstones for Mystical Jewellery Designs

Labradorite stone is believed to be a powerful mineral of protection with healing powers. It is believed to help guide the owner to their true path in life. According to Inuit legend, the Northern lights (aurora borealis) vanished one day and became trapped in the mineral rocks off the coast of Labrador; they were finally freed by a warrior sent to search for them.

Labradorite has a hardness of 6- 6.5 on the Moh's scale and is regarded as a durable stone. Labradorite stone is often used in large set rings and pendants as this makes the most of their amazing iridescent quality.

Our range includes a variety of colours for you to choose from. They come in cabochons, oval and round shapes, and are available in sizes ranging from 1mm to 12mm.
