Everything you need to start out without overloading you with tools. The items are good quality and perfect for starting out or more advanced work. My jewellery recommended coming to cooksons and I wasn’t disappointed

Good starter

I've had this kit for 5 months and it has given me all the items necessary to solder. I had issues with the torch, which was temperamental and finally died after a few uses but Cookson were excellent in sending out a replacement. The reason for the 4 stars is that I think this pack could be made cheaper by including smaller quantities of consumables. For an amateur jeweller I have used some of the easy solder strip and not even tried the medium or hard. I suspect the flux and salts may go off before I have a chance to use them up. This also stops me from trying other products such as Soldering paste. Otherwise it has all you need to solder and the quality is good.

Start Soldering...

This kit is brilliant - it contains everything you need & comes with a more than generous amount of easy, medium & hard solder. I had an issue with my torch but cooksongold were so helpful and sent out a free replacement the next day - couldn't be more pleased! I have bought several products since and they've all been excellent.

Great kit

I have just set up my own mini workshop and this kit was prefect to start up with. I like the liquid flux and now use it with the solder paste for almost perfect joints every time. The torch is easy to fill and to light and seemed to go on for ages and ages enabling me to complete many tasks on just the first recharge of the fuel tank. I have soldered both small jump rings and larger items and can not fault the kit.

This starter soldering kit has everything for you to get soldering except a pickling component but as Im a silversmith student I have a solution to my problem do all the soldering at home a pickle silver in class that way I have time to one find a suitable device and two get ahead of whatever Im creating. Advice on when your parcel arrived check everything as my auroflux had leaked but thankfully just into the plastic bag, I told cooksons via email and got a new bottle leak free, it arrived in two days and I much prefer it than the borax cone.
