Step One

Cut the transparent white fimo into 12 equal pieces and put 4 pieces to one side. Add small amounts of your chosen metallic colours to each piece of the translucent white. Knead and blend the each piece together until the colour is even and the clay is smooth. Mix different size pieces together in order to achieve different colour gradients.

Step Two

Roll out each colour blended piece of Fimo using a rolling pin. Roll out each piece of plain translucent white Fimo. You should now have 12 lengths of Fimo about 8-10cm long and 1-2cm wide.

Step Three

Use a paintbrush to apply a thin layer of white acrylic paint to the surface of each piece of Fimo and allow to dry.

Step Four

Stack the Fimo lengths together alternating between colours.

Step Five

Roll the Fimo out into a sheet using an acrylic rollers. To ensure the sheet is an even thickness you can use acrylic strips or stacks of playing cards either side. Roll the sheet to a 2-3mm thickness.

Step Six

Use a cutter to cut out your shapes

Step Seven

Use a bead piercing needle or cocktail stick to pierce a hole at the top of each shape for your earring hook wire. If you want to join a few pieces together also add a hole at the bottom.

Step Eight

Place your Fimo shapes on a baking tray and bake in the oven at 110 degrees centigrade for 30 minutes or according to individual packet instructions.

Step Nine

When baked and cool use the grind n polish pads to remove any rough edges.

Step Ten

When smooth and even take a paintbrush and apply 2 thin coats of Fimo varnish to the surface and allow to dry between each layer.

Step Eleven

Take your earring hook wire and grip the hoop either side using 2 pairs of snipe or chain nose pliers. Twist the pliers in opposite direction to open the hoop.

Step Twelve

Thread on the Fimo shape and close the hoop by gripping the hoop either side using 2 pairs of snipe or chain nose pliers. Twist the pliers towards each other to close the hoop.

Step Thirteen

Add any additional Fimo shapes using jump rings.
