Tourmaline for Inspirational Jewellery Designs

The tourmaline stone is often referred to as the muse’s stone or the stone of the rainbow. Egyptian legend has it that the tourmaline while passing over from the centre of the earth, passed over a rainbow absorbing its entire colour. The name tourmaline comes from the Singhalese words ‘tura mali’ that translates to ‘gemstone with mixed colours’ and many believe that its imaginative colours contain inspirational powers. Tourmaline is currently available in green and pink round shaped cabochons from between 4mm to 8mm. Considered as an alternative birthstone of opal to December, creating a tourmaline birthstone jewellery range would make an exciting jewellery making project! Head over to our Facebook page, blogs and forums where you will find an array of tourmaline jewellery you can look at creating with tourmaline gemstones. If you would like some advice on setting your tourmaline stones, call one of our advisors on customers services on 0121 200 2120 or via live chat.
