These cute little rabbit earrings are a perfect pair of stud earrings, but they can also be used to make personalised pendants for a unique necklace or drop earrings.

Step 1: Snip off the pins
First you need to snip off the ear pin with flush cutters – as close as you can to the rabbit.

Step 2: Sand
Then sand off the little burr where the pin was connected to ensure that the back of the rabbit is completely flat (It’s a bit fiddly, the best way is to dampen your fingertip and use your finger to rub the rabbit against a coarse filing stick – but be careful not to file your fingers!).

Step 3: Plan Design
Using the rabbit, plan out your design. You can chose to pattern with the picture stamps, or personalise with a name or words.

Step 4 –Option 1.
Add solder paste to the back of the rabbit. Position in place and solder to your chosen blank then pickle. After pickling and rinsing, stamp on your chosen designs. (The blanks are slightly easier to stamp once they have been heated, as it softens the metal).

Step 4 –Option 2.
Alternatively you can stamp a design on before soldering. This is good if you are worried about your stamping going wrong after soldering on the rabbit. If you are very unsure, you can stamp an all over random pattern, then solder on the rabbit in the same way as above.

Step 4 –Option 3.
Another option is the rabbit can be soldered on the edge of the blank. Make sure there is a good contact between the two pieces before putting on the solder paste. Then pickle. Once the piece has been pickled, clean up with your polishing pads, and add to a barrel tumbler for extra sparkle.

Step 5:
Finish.
The finished pieces ready to add jump rings and a chain. Why not give one with a pair of the rabbit ear studs to make a lovely Easter present set?
