Jewellery CAD Design
Step 1
Begin by selecting the item you want to cast in precious metal from the design library. Once you’ve made your choice, the online portal will display eight different precious metal options to choose from, along with a 3D digital preview of your selected piece—in this case, the jeweller’s saw. When you’re satisfied with your design, click “Order” to proceed.

Step 2
Choose your preferred precious metal for the jeweller’s saw from the available eight options, each showing its estimated weight and price. At this stage, you’ll also select the finish, hallmarking (optional for authenticity) and size. For this example, we’ve chosen sterling silver, polished and no hallmarking. Adjust the size using the slider or enter the measurements manually—click “Resize” to update the price and weight. Note that precious metal prices fluctuate daily, so the cost may vary when you place your order.

Step 3
Once you’re satisfied with your jeweller’s saw, it will be added to your basket, ready for checkout. After completing your purchase, all that’s left is to wait for your precious metal cast jeweller’s saw to arrive and enjoy it at home.
Top tips for finishing and polishing a precious metal cast
- Progressive sanding: Start with coarse grit (320 or 400) to remove imperfections, then use finer grits (600, 800, 1200) for a smooth surface. Sand in multiple directions for uniformity.
- Polish with rotary tool or buffing wheel: Use a rotary tool or buffing wheel with polishing compounds, starting with a medium-grade and finishing with a finer one for a high shin.
- Detail polishing: For intricate areas, use small brushes or felt tips with polishing compounds to ensure even polishing in hard-to-reach spot.
- Final clean and polish: After polishing, clean with an ultrasonic or steam cleaner, then finish with a microfibre or silver polishing cloth for maximum brilliance.
