Whether you’re investing in new equipment, sharpening your jewellery-making skills, or need expert support in your workshop — our technicians Scott and Abby are here to help.
With decades of experience and hands-on knowledge across tools, techniques, and training, you’re in excellent hands.
Scott:
Scott is one of Cooksongold’s senior jewellery technicians and training specialists.
Scott began his journey more than 20 years ago as an apprentice diamond setter in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter. His bench skills quickly evolved into specialist expertise in diamond-set wedding rings, torch and laser repairs, and finishing castings in gold, silver, platinum and palladium.
After over a decade of hands-on work, Scott brought his in-depth knowledge to Cooksongold, where he now supports jewellers across the UK with product demos, equipment training, and servicing.
He has expertise in the Magic E7 engraving machine, Orotig laser welders, PUK welding systems and much more. Scott doesn’t just show you how to use the tools. He explains how to get the best results and what to watch out for.

One customer said:
“Scott didn’t just explain what to do — he showed us what not to do, too. His experience gave us real confidence.”
Scott supports a wide range of tools and techniques — including rolling mills, micro motors, electroplating, and engraving — offering guidance both in person and online. He’s even travelled to Galway, Ireland, to provide face-to-face support.

Abby:
Abby is a key member of our technical team with a solid background in both making and mentoring.
She has more than nine years of experience in the jewellery industry, including running her own business and working in luxury jewellery sales. With a BA Hons in Jewellery Design and an HND in Jewellery and Silversmithing, Abby brings strong academic and practical credentials to the team.
Her technical knowledge is matched by her enthusiasm for helping makers feel confident and capable. Whether it’s a product demo in-store, over video call or out at an event, Abby helps customers get the most out of their equipment like the Magic S7, Orotig laser welders, Foredom pendant motors or Lampert systems.

With a decade of customer service under her belt, every session with Abby is friendly, hands-on and focused on your needs. Her background in customer service makes every interaction feel approachable and easy, and she’s regularly praised for her supportive attitude and clear communication.
Based in Birmingham, Abby is available for both in-store and online demonstrations and works closely with customers to make sure they get the most out of their setup.

Aiden:
Based in our Hatton Garden store, Aiden brings a dynamic mix of bench skills, technical knowledge and design insight to our team as a sales rep and demonstrator.
His jewellery journey began at 15 with a school work experience placement and quickly became a lifelong passion. He spent every school holiday learning and, by 18, was producing intricate Gothic silver designs for export to Japan and confidently making a cast ring in under 30 minutes.

Aiden went on to graduate with First Class Honours in Fashion Accessories and Jewellery Design from London Metropolitan University, developing a strong interest in alternative materials including titanium and stainless steel. His work has since earned recognition as a finalist in both the Worshipful Company of Cutlers Competition and the Gordon Hunting Design Award.
With nine years of experience, Aiden blends traditional making skills with contemporary approaches. His designs have featured in pop-up galleries around London and he’s worked closely with leading international silversmiths including Adi Toch and Simone ten Homple.
At Cooksongold, Aiden currently focuses on in-person demonstrations at our Hatton Garden store, covering key equipment such as the Orotig Evo X and the Magic E7. He’s now expanding his reach into customer site visits and online training — with a particular focus on advanced engraving techniques and working with alternative materials.
