I think it's a bit strange, considering the competitions (or so I thought) were for the purpose of promoting the board.
Which also brings up a point I have made before when the last winner was announced - surely only contributing members should be eligible, anyone can register on a forum and forget about it for evermore. It wouldn't be hard to pull some stats from the database to determine who would be eligible, should this kind of criteria be put in place.
It just seems to me that it would not only make the contributing members happier, it would be more of a useful tool for Cookies too, by encouraging people to take part in the forum, and not just to register and never come back.

That's a really good point, Lucinda. I know I was a bit miffed that the last rolling mill went to somebody who had never ever posted

Me too
I wouldn't be so bothered if it weren't for the fact it wasn't going to help Cookies or the forum, seems a little like shooting yourself in the foot!
Lucinda
I'd really like to know who wins but I'm not about to start sending in letters to find out! A little notice on the forum would please everyone I reckon!
Lorraine
Don't forget this wasn't a forum comp, it was a registering for an account with cookies draw so I suppose it has nothing to do with the forum. I only just remembered!
Jane,
(although I quite like Sunny!)
I think a few of you guys have got confused here as the last win a rolling mill competition wasn't hosted for the forum, it was an incentive to encourage people to register an online account on our website. Existing customers were also allowed to enter. This competition was open to anybody who registered online at Cooksongold.com during the qualifying period, this was not an exclusive forum competition.
Adam
Ah, that makes a bit more sense then
I know this was brought up when the winner was announced though - it would have been good to have been told then
Lucinda
ah - that's not so galling then. I hadn't realised (or hadn't computed)
