    SHINE A LIGHT!!

    that makes me feel totally inadequate! I love things like that - amazing! who thinks of doing that in the first place? great idea... although a part of me wants to tell him to get a girlfriend

    ^this. I see stuff like that and I think someone has less of a life than I do.

    It's fantastic stuff, and I'll admit to briefly wondering about having a go (if I ever have the time) - but I confess I can't quite get the reason for using the materials in question.

    Graham Short's engraving the edge of a razor blade because he can makes more sense to me.

    Well he is a typical nerdish person. But if your hobby becomes totally absorbing, then all your troubles, real or imagined, fall away. It is much more successful than umpteen visits to a therapist. Making jewellery has saved me from depression after retirement, with the added bonus that people actually consent to wear my stuff.     see that I get. there is a degree of permanence to it and there is a concept behind it as well which takes it beyond some kind of obsessive compulsion.

    I would imagine people scrap over who gets to wear your stuff
