Dear Judy,
A fair number of people become sensitive to base metal ear posts and hooks and come out in painful blisters. Once sensitized it is with them for life, so I suggest you always use sterling wire from a known supplier for this. Even plated wire on much used earrings will eventually wear through. Thanks for that Dennis. I normally do but these are for me and so far, I am ok with copper.
