I bought this product mainly for the flame torch. It works brilliant. The flame is steady. It works for 40 minutes nonstop on a single tank filling, although I used medium to low heat. You Dan adjust the heat, change the flame from continuous to as needed by the locking mechanism, and what the manual doesn't tell you, you can sit it on side of the locking mechanism to angle ittilt in so you can bring the piece to the flame. I solder very tiny work made of gold. I've soldered tens of pieces with no problem. The fact that you can hold it like a pen is priceless to me. A,though I reckon that it will not be practical for large pieces, but I don't make those. - I only wish they took the time to make a better instruction manual as it's very ambiguous to a first timer. To use as a torch, remove everything till you see the white ceramic inner, then refit the slotted protector. When unboxed, it will have the hot air nozzle already fitted. Remove that with the tiny spanner provided to use as torch. I'd recommend it to a friend. Five stars from me.
