I had struggled for years to get a high quality photo even with my Nikon D50 which is excellent for close up shots. I was spending ages in Photoshop trying to get the best results to make them as they look in reality. This light box is wonderful for getting an excellent lighting on the jewellery without shadows and other reflections and glare which can mean hours of editing. I think the pictures will only be a good as your camera though, so if you are going to invest in this make sure you have a good camera to match. I am spending only 5 minutes on editing now and get fantastic photos so I highly recommend this piece of equipment, It is not suitable for large items only jewellery, but the front and top openings are really a great help.

I have been using this light box for several months now and have found it to be very good for small items i.e. rings, earrings bracelets and also watches. Being able to take photographs from above and from the front is very useful. The camera I use is a small Sony Cybershot. The unit is very portable and comes in very useful when doing valuation work in clients homes. I manage to get good quality images laying items on the floor of the box but occasionally I will use small display stands. To get a white background I photoshop some images. All round I consider this to be very good value for the money

This box is only suitable for small items. It will be difficult to arrange bracelets and necklaces as the box is small and a macro lens will only catch a part of your jewellery unless you photograph from a distance of the box. There is not possible to hang your jewellery or fasten wire to hang earrings or necklaces, so all items must lie on the floor of the box. The major problem is the light. It is just not strong enough and it is difficult to get a white background in pictures with coloured stones, without fading the colours. Furthermore, the led light will appear as shiny dots on your jewellery due to reflection.
