Visiting Down Under.
Some of my family, holidayed in Australia over Christmas, meeting old friends and touring the cities.
They came back happy and proudly bearing this rather plain boulder opal, bought in a gift shop, to be made into a pendant.
I decided to doll it up a bit into a flower shape with touches of gold wire. The snake chain has a hook fastener and a piece of figaro chain added to hook it into.
The chain end has a double-sided charm made from a twisted wire jump ring and two opal triplets from my stash, back to back. I was rather pleased with its burger shape.
A souvenir of Freemantle. Dennis.

Hi Dennis,
It's really beautiful, really love that little charm on the chain end, so pretty. So meticulous in each area of the piece.

Nice one like the triplets on the chain, ( my mate has lawn bowl size pieces of stone containing QLD Boulder just being kicked around his yard will he sell me a piece No! )

That's very pretty Dennis - at first glance I thought it was a spacecraft from the Jetsons, but I now see the flower! Immaculate finishing as always

I met a lady opal miner from Aus at the last Hong Kong show.
I can put in touch if anyone wants opals direct from the mine

Lovely work as always Dennis. I really must get brave enough to play with my piece of fist sized boulder opal sometime.
And I always have your offer of a contact in the back of my mind Pearlesence but I fear that might be a dangerous road to go down!
