Default Neckwires Anyone make their own

Ok The post seems to have gone into the eather ( or forgot to click submit ) here it is

Caroline I thought it was a bit strange also, maybe I got it wrong and they just stop taking orders Strathmore produce high quality kilts I was shown a example, I believe they outsource the kilt making and only weave the cloth, they must must be comfortable with small runs as they have come back and said they have none and will need to produce it, this is not a budget exercise ($850-$900) although I will most likely never need to replace it, I decided to make a new belt&buckle plus a kilt pin ( probably a pendant in the mix as well )the commercially made items on offer just don't cut it,
Just to explain the kilt I used on ANZAC day was a Mckenzie as this is the tartan my father's regiment wore, if following tradition I can wear 3 tartans, now I have a partner I have chosen to wear her family tartan, ( they have accepted me as part of the family ) getting carried away I will stop rabbiting on.

We use Caledonia kilts at Abernethy which is about 5 miles away. I can imagine they have a rush in at Xmas but have never heard of having to have their tartan woven! Yes it’s a big spend, I bought Mike a kilt and all the bits for his 40th 20 years ago now and it was about £500.,there will be Other tartans within that clan name, dress, hunting etc, can’t say I like Mike’s but it was the one available in the choice at the time and I don’t like a blue tartan.

Yep there are several the tartan in question is Jardine I have yet to meet any one who likes it, they all decide to go with the dress version ( modern ) as I have, I will inquire just for interest as to who actually makes the kilts .

Abernethy is half way between us and Perth! I like Perth only 6 miles and where we shop, it’s a civilised small city, very pretty with the river Tay and refurbed theatre and new concert hall. Then just a few miles north and you’re in the highlands. Hope you manage your trip
