    Default Shawl pin (penanular?)

Hello. After knitting my daughter a shawl I decided to make this pin as well. The circular part was originally a bangle made from 3mm round wire soldered and textured. I cut a section away and reshaped the circle leaving a small gap. The pin is made from 2mm round wire flattened and textured at one end and tapered at the other. I soldered a small piece of silver tube onto the back of the textured end of the pin and slid the circle through the tube. It works well and I might try and make some different designs.Click image for larger version.

Yes, a fastener is always a welcome addition for a shawl. If you google Viking and Celtic shawl pins you will find plenty more ideas.

Very neatly done. I like the texturing on the circle and the subtle shaping of your pin; particularly the flattening of one end versus the tapering on the other. Well done
