Default Patina with Liver of Sulphur

    Hi all. Another experiment

So I made a pendant. The plan was to etch the back plate so that there would be a little surprise on the back. Nail art plate design duly applied but sadly my etchant was a bit bitey so it was a less than clean etch. No matter, I decided to add some Keum Boo gold to a couple of areas, still interesting even though you can't really see what the picture is...

Not bad. Maybe I'll add some liver of sulphur...

ID:	11949 and boy did that work! Love the way the gold is shining through and that once the patina wears off that'll still be there.

    Oh, and here's the front

Double sided delight. Can be worn both ways according to mood. Dennis.

Love the effect you have created Deb, I especially like the surprise for the back.

Yes, I'm going to have to explore this feature a bit more I think.

Sadly I've no idea, I've had this stone for years - long before I had the ability to set it - so if anyone has an idea of what it might be I'd be grateful! I'll have to go ask in a couple of the Facebook groups I'm in.

Ah well, the reason I asked is it looks as though it is a piece of Boulder Opal

General consensus seems to be turquoise, possibly Royston turquoise. It's definitely not boulder opal.
