Default Cuttlebone cast ring with amethyst ppint

I made this at home for my partner who loves chunky rings lol.
    Size 7.5, 16 x 1.6mm band.
I cut the amethyst using a small diamond cutting disc on a cheap rotary tool.
I didn't have a ring mandrel at the time, so the ring was formed around a socket from my tool box that just happened to be the right size for her.
I used 0.5mm sterling flat wire as the bezel, which turned out to be way too difficult to set over the crystal's faces. If I do it again I'll use fine silver instead.

    Dear Orph,
Thank you for showing us your very innovative ring. It just shows what you can do with the tools in hand without spending £££.
You are definitely a qualified jeweller now, and I hope you will post you pictures here from time to time.

Thank you very much for your kind words Dennis!
I'll be posting some more pics after the weekend and am looking forward to updating the thread I started a few months back with photos of the Dyson vacuum cleaner that I turned into a homemade pendant motor lol.

I like that very much indeed - both design and execution
