    Default Heating diamonds?

    Hi everyone,
So im planning on making a 18white gold engagement ring with tapered baguette shoulders, I already have a pair of tapered baguettes currently set in the same style of setting i want to use on the ring.
Rather then remove them and buy new settings can i solder these settings onto my shank without removing the diamonds? or will the heat ruien the stones? if so, will thermogaurd help with this? Thank you

Thermal paste is a two edged sword, unless you have a small very hot torch. It might well protect something from overheating, but at the same time stop the piece getting hot enough for solder to flow.

Soldering with diamonds in might or might not affect them. Its just whether you are willing to risk it. Dennis.
