Default More permanent accent of relief

Hello all. I just made this ring today using permanent marker. I know there must be a more permanent solution. Any ideas? The metal is brass.

For brass, I'd look at tourmaline solution (or other antiquing solution) - mostly because I can't remember whether liver of sulphur would do the job.
Other options could include epoxy (or cold enamels) or oil-based printing ink - as used by a number of engravers.
Most of them will wear off over time though.

Just went to try a brass strip with Noirit, which is a sulphur containing agent. Didn't work. Dennis.

Damn I just ordered some liver of sulfur. Oh well it wasn't expensive and the maker said there were some custom chemicals added so it still might work. Thanks.
