Sorry can’t help, I ever make them.
I use a variety of thicknesses, depending on what I'm making. Sometimes its .5mm - but can be up to 1mm thick.

I'd love to comment but have not done that many ! I am everywhere atm as only learning and trying everything! I think if I do smth then I would be aiming for mid thickness not too thin and not too heavy,,, but again depends on design too...
I make them a lot. I use .5 SS sheet. Be careful when soldering the post on that you don’t press too hard or it pushes a little dent out which needs filing back.
.7 is good too but sometimes looks a bit clumsy on intricate designs
