I was loathe to go down the the don’t shop with Cousins route but they have a bad reputation which is why I was guiding you towards Cookson. Cookson have just started stocking Foredom and the micromotor is a good bit cheaper than the good price my husband paid when he bought mine.
I haven’t used a flex I since college in the 70s and was recently gifted the micromotor and it couldn’t be lighter to use for the reasons given by Dennis which is also why it makes it so expensive. It might be worth going for a cheaper brand micromotor as a starter to get a feel for it. You might find it works well for years and meets your needs

I never am They're still up to their usual tricks with believing they're not bound by any laws.

I hadn’t seen anything for a while so hoped they’d improved. What happens if your OH has bought something as a gift, what stance do they take with a non trade customer?

    I keep hearing horror stories.
They only do business to business transactions so if you bought from them ergo you're a business.

Do you need an account to buy from them?

Nope. It's in their terms & conditions though.
    Legally it's utter cobblers.

That’s what I thought. I’ve probably bought a hammer or something in the past but would never contemplate anything with working parts
