    Default Japan House.

    Japan House.
If you are ever near Kensington High Street London, then do pay a visit to Japan House, which opened this summer. It is quite near the tube station, turn right on leaving and just past the large flagship Wholefood Store.

The space is large and white, so the first impression might be that there is not much to see, but that is just an illusion. There is paper, stationery, glass, ceramics, fabric, kitchen tools and mokume-gane.

All of it is for sale, but much is beyond expensive, unless you fancy some metal wood grain hollow ware ranging from £15K-25K. They also have seminars and courses.

The top floor has a restaurant and, in the basement easy to miss, is an auditorium showing craftsmen at their work. It is worth going for this alone and absolutely riveting.

But best of all you get to sample a Japanese toilet and all the works.

I've seen some ads for some of the courses & seminars, they look interesting given my bias.
