Default 1.7-1.8 stone for 2mm setting

    Hi everyone,
I recently decided to try my hand at a new idea, iv bought myself a emerald cut 6x4 tanzanite, and a 6x4m white gold setting, i bought a further 10 white gold settings (2mm settings) with the intention of setting 10 diamonds around it to make a almost halo effect.
I just noticed i only have 3 2mm diamonds but i have plenty of 1.8-1.7mm diamonds. Will these fit into a 2mm setting or be too small? Thank you

The difference is very significant-for very small diameters, so they are likely be too small. However as you have all the parts to hand, why not verify this for yourself? Dennis.

    It depends.
I bought an 18ct white claw fitting last year to save time, it was supposed to be for a 3mm stone but was far too small
You really would be better making your own next time.
