All lovely Dennis, but no. 3 is my favourite and more practical on a thumb IMO.

The first is filigree with leaf shapes and tube set red crystals. The leaf shapes were soldered in while flat, but the tubes were added on a ceramic soldering cone after bending.

Wire for borders and shanks, 1.3mm round. Wire for leaves 0.7mm flattened.

The next is a flat ring with a bezel set amethyst and two citrines. Small oval bezels can be tough to set, so I used my Dremel engraver with the tip reversed as a mechanical hammer.

Roll textured back plate 0.7mm. Wire for rims, 1.2mm sterling.
Bezel strip 0.45mm fine silver, made from rolled down round wire.

The last is a flush set ring made from oval wire, using 6x 2.2mm black diamonds and 6x 2.0mm white diamonds. I was way out of my comfort zone for this one, as I don’t have a microscope, just a 6x magnification headband and my eyes were tiring rather quickly.

Drawn down sterling oval wire, 2.4x 4.5mm. Dennis.
    They are beautiful.
I didnt have a clue what you were talking about when reading it but your work is lovely

Thank you Mandy, but I am disappointed that you found my writing too obscure. You would benefit greatly from having a book on jewellery making for beginners and nothing better than Madeline Coles two in one manual.

Its out of print, but the used copies are a good bargain: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jewellery-T.../dp/1840921978

It shows you all the tools, essential techniques and some beginners projects to try out. Dennis.

Ive just re read it and understand it now. I was tired with no glasses lastnight and kinda skimmed over to the pics.
I have that book. You recommended it elsewhere so bought it from that so might take it as my holiday read!!!
Sorry, i didnt mean to make you feel like you didnt explain properly, just me being lazy when i should have gone to sleep!

All the rings are lovely. I was very interested in the flush set one as I am going on a course for flush setting later this month. My attempts have not been satisfactory and after reading your comments about tired eyes I think this may have been the problem. Will try with a larger stone.

Ah, sleep that knits up the 'ravelled sleeve of care. That's Shakespeare that is.

Thank you Kellz, I made it with only six black ones at first, then in a fit of remorse drilled more holes and put in six white ones. It not only hurt my eyes, but was very painful on the pocket as well. Dennis.

They're lovely Dennis, I'm particularly fond of thumb rings myself.
