Default Finally have our Seaglass just how we want it- What do you think?

Well after alot of testing and development we finally have our sea glass shining with a mirror finish

I think this shows the glass off 1000 times better than just whamming a hole in it that looks like it was drilled with a shot gun as alot of people seem to do. It also makes them crack and break easily as your introducing stress points.

I am a former engineer and perfectionist so i have been really critical of everything we have done and hope that pays off in the reception our pieces get.

Please let us know what you think but before you ask, i can not tell you how i achieved this finish sorry as i keep teaching people to do things only for them to use it against me and we really need to get some income at present.

    Thanks
    Mick

Anyway here are the pieces and i hope you like them

They look rather stunning so how ever you’ve achieved this then well done!
I love seaglass the way I find it though, rough and ready to make in its natural form but what you’ve done is equally lovely. Hope it all works...

Would have loved to see them but I would apparently have to download the Dropbox app which I don’t really need

So just to be clear - you want help from other people, but you aren't prepared to help others?
That's not what this forum is for.

I have just had to wrap up my last business at great loss due to everyone simply copying what i did over using me for the service. I have a family to feed and im sick of people taking advantage of my generosity so yes i wont reveal how i did it. I initially asked on here for advice about this process at the start and was told it cant be done. When i have food on the table and a customer base i will consider sharing it.

I do not think its very fair to judge me when i have bent over backwards for everyone i could my whole life and have been constantly let down. Times are tight and for once ill let someone else work it out themselves.

That's life. If other people can do the same thing as well or better then tough. You need to bring something else to the table.

I don't regard it as in any way unreasonable to "judge" you on anything other than your displayed behaviours here. It's all I've got to go on and it's all that is relevant to the community here.

The very ethos of the forum is that we help each other. If you're not prepared to help others and just take then you do not belong here.

Pretending you've got some unique process and refusing to knowledge share at the same time as wanting assistance from others is hypocritical in the extreme.

I think its pretty self explanatory that the ethos of every forum is to help everyone. Its also pretty shameful to try and draw me into debate about this and imply i do not belong here when in reality i could of said nothing at all.

Your pretending remark says all that needs to be said about you attitude. You clearly get a kick out of belittling people and use the guise of looking out for the community to justify your actions.

There is a difference between pointing someone in the right direction and giving them it on a plate. And ultimately most advice offered on forums is not detrimental to the teacher. If you told someone what they need to solder, they still have to learn how to do it and their work will be judged by their craftsmanship.

To achieve this finish is not down to skill apart from the hand finish polish, its down to doing things different to the usual and anyone could do it if taught. Its a thin veiled advantage i hold to start with. Its my hot sauce recipe and im keeping it under wraps until it reaps a reward

We are in a very precarious financial situation at present and you can sit on your high horse and condescend all your want, water off a ducks back.

You were right Mick I didn’t see the alternative in paler print underneath.
Nice clean lines, simple bails and great colours.
I was reading back your original post and I don’t think anyone said it wasn’t possible and my poin5 then was would it be cost effective for sea glass no matter how stylish it has become. I would imagine it’ll be getting the price right so good luck with your venture, we’re all needing a bit of that just now

    Thank You.

Our whole reasoning behind it was to try and offer a sleeker alternative to the raw glass.

The only downside is when you go this far to work on the finish the rejection rate increases due to damage, not suitable shapes or internal cracks that ruin the gem like look.

I think long term as well they would be better suited on gold over silver in material, And hopefully appeal.

Thanks for the Good Luck. I am hoping offering internationally will get us going

As regards the impossible remark it was only referenced off a conversation via P.M a while ago on here.

    Thanks
    Mick
