Im Sarah, sorry, its not on my profile so easy to get wrong.
I have 18 horses, all retired now.
I ran a horse retirement centre for many years in the UK and France.
A friends elderly horse died with me and she asked me to collect some hair so she could get a bracelet made.
I was going to get it made for her but on searching around I couldn't find what I wanted so I made it myself.
It spiralled from there
People often ask for items using dog and cat fur too and I do make a few but its usually too short to braid so mostly only suitable for resin items.
I did make a braided ring from orang-utan hair for somebody a while back though.....

Orangutan hair? That's not your everyday sort of project!

Yes it was cool, a girl had been a carer for an orang-utan and when he was under sedation for something the vet snipped off a tiny bit of hair for her.
Sadly he lived in a zoo though.
