    So the asbestos substitute can be grinded to make balls? Is that better than the charcoal?

    There's not much grinding to do. Just get a round ball burr and twiddle it in your fingers until you have a little shallow cup.

    If you want balls of all the same size, melt a set of jump rings. Dennis.
