    Default Joining silver pieces,

    Hi,
I made a pendant piece of birds and leaves in silver clay, with a ring to back them onto.

I didn't fire them together because the clay ring was too fragile and when the clay paste was put on it disintegrated. I had thought I could sinter the pieces on, but looking at the the fired pieces the ring is slightly bevelled, and the leaves aren't flat so that's not an option. The pieces are too fine to file flat.

Can I use metal clay to join them? It's fine silver. What other options are there?

Make a ring from wire and melt a little solder wherever you want your additions to be. Lay them on and gently reheat until the solder flows. Dennis
