Default The Return of the Prodigal.

On the rare visits of a younger member of the family, we don’t kill the fatted calf, as it’s not much use to her: they all seem to be vegans these days. But she does get to request a piece of jewellery.

Last time it was a variation of the flower necklace she had spotted in my album. As she often wears several necklaces at once, I didn’t use a fancy chain or fastener, but kept it simple, only inserting some jump rings for adjustment and a matching charm to finish.

This time it was a ring with an elephant theme. The textured body of the ring is 11.00 mm wide, with contrasting round wires for rims. There are five elephants sweated on, but as they are just over 6.00 mm tall they were a bit challenging to pierce.

I have used red and white 9ct gold hoping it will last into the future as a memento. That is if it isn’t lost, dropped down a drain, or trodden on. Dennis.
