    Default I Blame the Yankies.

    Today the lid of my Lortone barrel came undone, while it was running. No great deal since I keep it on deep tray and probably not done up tightly enough, but a first for me.

    It highlights a curious design problem: the barrel rotates clockwise, so the grooved nut in its guide will tend to loosen further as it rotates.

    Can the motor be reversed by reversing the incoming lead from the switch? Dennis.

    can you put the lid at the other side of the machine ?

    Yes, good thinking josef, thank you. I might be able to transfer the barrel guide, or make a new one.
    You can just about see on the picture below, how the grooved nut of the lid fits the guide. Dennis.

    The twin barrel versions have a different guide it is just a flat washer fitted to the top of the housing and does not use the groove, I will take a pic of mine and post later
