    can't really think of any specific tips, except get someone to help you when forcing the ring open to fit stone tightly as it's hard work on your own!!!!
    I use an aluminium ring clamp when I do tension sets. It has a thumbsrew on it which I attach a normal wooden ring clamp to, this gives extra control when releasing the tension on to the stone.

    I didn't know there was such a thing as a "tension" ring - it looks great.
