The heart shape as an idiogram denoting romantic love can be found as far back as the middle ages.
A good way to find a shape for youself, is to fold a piece of thin paper, flatten it again and draw several half hearts against the fold.
Then double it again and trace through from both sides.
You will have a wide choice and be able to claim some personal imput. Dennis
Thanks for the tip Dennis!
I am a big believer in go with what you like. Although I prefer the left heart in the other poll, I don't mind this one. However it seems to be the least popular by a very wide margin which makes me think I'm missing something...
Can you (or anyone else) see anything inherently wrong with this design?
Its too narrow and pointy for me, I prefer more sweeping curves.
The first one that Dennis posted is also quite narrow and pointed but the 3D rounded body makes it work.
You must remember though that this sort of thing does come down to personal taste.
For me the straight sides remind me of a pack of playing cards hearts. where as the curved sided one reminds me of arms holding the heart making it more loving. I dont get out much!
Thanks everyone for your input, it has been very informative and helpful. When you get a chance, take a look at the last heart shape vote here:
