Default Having a piece of quartz cut

    Hello good people,
Just wondering about a rough (very rough?) price to have cut what I've been told is smokey quartz.
I'm thinking about wide flat planes (with a nod to to Regine Schwartzer)
It can't be that expensive, can it? Would it take long?
Always interesting to read other queries too.
    Thanks in advance.
    Nick

If you go to a gem dealer such as AE Ward and manage to explain what you want it will cost about £50. The turnaround is about ten days.

There are also members here, who if they spot this, might be willing to help.

However if you are interested in persuing this in the future, you would be best to take a short course and do it for yourself. Basic used lapidary equipment, can be found on line and need not be that expensive.

However it is mucky work and you will need a shed or a garage. Dennis.

Thanks v much for that Dennis.
As much as I'd like to try myself I have neither shed nor garage.
I'm doing a couple of course in December so I'll pop in then.

    All the best,
    Nick
