    Like anything else, I guess. Just as long as it takes. If you feel ready for a new dog, then you are.You won't forget the the old one and the fun you had together.

    My husband, who used to breed border collies, says the best thing to do is get a new one straight away.

    You're not dishonouring your dog by getting a new one. They know how much you love(d) them
