What is your opinion on marking Sterling silver articles with a 925 stamp even if they are below hallmark threshold?

Do you think it adds any credibility to Sterling silver articles?

If selling, it adds a peace of mind factor, so if it doesn't escalate the price too much, do it. Otherwise add a 925 tag or whatever. Your decision. Dennis.

I don't as there are many people putting a 925 stamp on work that isn't so it just gives a false sense of worth in those situations. It doesn't mean anything and we have this conversation a lot. I would rather send all my underweight work in for a mark if I have a batch to send otherwise I don't bother.
