    Default Curved ID bar

    Hi all

I've ordered some curved ID bars to stamp and I've only just clicked, how am I going to stamp a curved bar on a flat bench block!

    Can anyone help? 😂

    Thanks

Setters wax, pitch, matsu yani - build up a small mound of it on e.g. a small piece of plywood, stick the ID bar to that (use a heatgun, it's less faff than a torch) and once it has cooled you can stamp the curved surface.

Of curse you can just hunt around the house for a curved wooden object, or file a piece of wood to the right curve, to rest your pieces on. You might have a wooden clothes hanger to cut up for instance.

You could also use a bangle mandrel, steel or wood, resting on its side.

The pieces could then probably be held in place with masking tape, or heavy elastic bands for stamping. Dennis.
