The silver heart is made to the same internal dimensions as the larger wooden one, albeit on a smaller scale so its able to fit quite snugly into the bottom of the heart cut-out.

To fix it to the wood, I very carefully used a high viscosity glue ( Loctite ) which bonds it like concrete, and the same with the bail. Drill a hole at the top the same width as the wire, glue it and drop it into the hole. Voila.
