    Default My holy grail

For the last year or so I have been working my way up to making an eternity ring. There is something about the look of them that screams of precision and it appeals to me greatly.
This is the product of a lot of work and I am proud as punch.
The next one will be even better!
The ring is argentium silver so it shouldnt tarnish, the ring was made entirely by hand, no casting and no machines, not even a pendant drill.

You did well Sam, but I would say that silver is not ideal for daily wear and will quickly become quite beaten up and loose stones. Dennis.

That's the usual advice (and the advice I'd give to customers), however... The pink sapphire eternity ring I made (sterling) as an end-of-course piece (grain set) has been worn every day since and - admittedly much to my surprise - hasn't lost a stone yet. This August will be its 6th birthday.

I would be inclined to precipitation harden this one though - easy enough to do in Argentium; have you considered evening up the channels by bright cutting them?

I have no idea what that is Peter! So I have not considered it.
Dennis silver is all I work in currently, the stones are only CZ as this really way an experiment.
If I make one in earnest I imagine it will be far more expensive!

And just because I had some spare stones today I made a half eternity and took progress shots.

    And the 2 pieces together.
Once again, they are not perfect but I am so pleased with myself I feel like treating myself to new tools!
However I have a blister the size of Hampshire on my thumb now!
