Hello Everyone,

My name is Jim and I am looking forward to learning more from the Cooksongold forum and the community of members. I work out of my home studio mainly evenings and weekends in between they daily excitement of raising three kids with my wife and a full time job in the forest industry. I look to one day increase my jewellery making efforts beyond just a hobby.

I am a graduate gemologist and hand fabricate in silver and gold. I also do some lapidary work if time permits.

I see you're in forestry. There might not seem much skill overlap between using a piercing saw and falling a Redwood with a Stihl or Husky fitted with a 48 inch chain bar, but I'd argue there is.
