    Default Plating necklaces in gold

Hi everyone - I'm new here and will likely have a few questions!

When you send a pendant to be gold plated for example, do you send it along with the necklace chain so the colour matches?

I'm just wondering because the casters we are going to use offer plating and finishing as well, so I don't know whether when I order a certain number of castings I should send the chains along with them... or if they can do the chains separately so I can have a choice of lengths. Or perhaps you tend to buy the chains already plated?

Thanks so much for your help and advice in advance!

You could send a sample of your chain Roz and ask for the plating to match.

However, I would avoid plating on chain as it does not last very long, so worn through patches will soon begin to look different and give rise to complaints. Dennis.

That's interesting, thanks Dennis. So do you advise solid gold or rose gold chains?

Yes, if your budget allows it, but 9ct would do. It tends to tarnish more than higher carats, but is easily restore in dip. Dennis.
