Default 1.4mm Wide full Eternity ring

I had a go at setting a full ET ring today I cast it at 1.5mm and used 1.4mm stones the extra 0.1 was lost through polishing.I worked out the stone placement in CAD and printed and cast it. the sprues look like a wheel because I couldnt attach them on the outside because of the markings for the stone positions.

    the sprue was removed

then I went through the grades of sandpaper to clean it up

I then put 3 stones on top of the indents to check I had the correct spacing.

I drilled through each of the holes to get into the stones for cleaning this was probs a bad idea because it will really weaken the band but as it was for practice I wasn't to bothered

then with a tapered burr I cut out in between the holes to make the claws

    bit of a close up

first 3 stones set, when you cut the stones they get closer together because the radius of the ring is reduced so I was checking I had guessed right ,I mean worked things out correctly.

I got a few more stones set

Then I went to watch Ice Hockey which was cool (see what I did there !)

Then got everything set and polished when I got back home

The finished ring as I said its not the strongest but was more of a practice to see if I could do it. I know some of the pictures are not the best its hard to get up close pictures as I just use my phone, but I will try to sort something out. Anyway it hides my mistakes so I might not rush !

Ha ha, rather you than, me Josef. For one, half those stones would end up in the peg holes if I were doing it. Dennis.
