    Given the labour involved, why are you plating copper? I personally would either make it in silver directly or make use of the fact that copper can be patinated all sorts of interesting ways, rather than obscuring it.

    Yes You've got a point - I want to see what it looks like in silver - the cost of silver and I am learning the procecces atm - I will be making in silver at some point soon

    If you're not selling it, then plating it makes eminent sense (you can have a display of your work without sinking a large amount of capital into it) -.but if you're doing it to sell them I'd go with silver or patinated copper.
