Hello, AD and welcome to the forum. Before you ask, Practical jewellery repair by James Hickling, dated 1988 is still worth browsing. To summarise other advice here, know all the pitfalls. Dennis.

Hello from Cumberland RI, USA. I spent some years in the costume jewelry industry in RI and Nearby MA until the mid 80's. In recent years I have renewed my interest in using platinum clad niobium as well as gold and silver. To pursue this I have studied the work of gun, knife and jewelry engravers on the engraving forums and equipped myself with the various tools necessary to accomplish my ideas. I have attached a few examples and will be glad to answer any questions the forum members may have.
