    Default Tube bezels - tapered

Has anyone made those tapered bezel settings by using seamless tube?
Would you use a size that is just a bit larger than the stone and force it into a tapered setting block, thereby closing the bottom into a pointed shape? The seating would then be burred as per usual to fit the stone.
I usually make straight sided ones but I was thinking of something a little more elegant. Thanks

I have done that on occasion Theresa.

Slightly bigger, and a little longer than you think. Turn it as you stretch it to reduce the bottom half twisting too much. It also keeps better shape. I say this as when we hit with a hammer, it can impact a little more on one point. Turning the metal just seems to keep it in better shape. You will need to anneal it to prevent it from splitting.
