    Default Hello from Scotland

I just came across this forum the other day, there's so much great info and advice! Over the years I have taken evening classes on and off in silversmithing so I'm a novice. I am currently trying to add to my tool collection as I work on copper or silver pieces at a weekly class and it seems to take weeks and weeks to finish one thing. I can't wait to give enamelling a go, I have just ordered a set of efcolor low temp enamels with some aluminium blanks for practicing on. I love working with silver and copper and would like to experiment and add some colour to my designs.

Looking forward to exploring the forum

    Hi. Suze, welcome.
It's a bit quiet on here, many are busy with Christmas. I'm in Fife
If you do a search there have been posts in the past about buying tools. It's a slippery slope once you join a forum because we have very bad habits but you'll find help in past posts!

    Hi Caroline,
Thanks, I've got the basics but it's never enough. I keep needing (wanting) more tools, I think I'm already on the slippery slope...
    I'm in Stirling

    Hello Suze
Welcome to the forum - as I tell my other half - there are far worse things to spend your money on than tools
Looking forward to finding out how you get on with the enamels.

I favour the boy scout approach. Make jewellery by rubbing two sticks together.

Would you recommend any particular type of stick Dennis?
